    1. Gorgeous Kite but get Icone

Posted by john - freestyle on 19th Oct 2010

I've had this kite for about 1 year now. Like most of the series she flies a little heavy compared to a WM U/L but nevertheless I estimate that the wind range is as published.

Speed control is pretty good much better than a W/M and easy to adjust. Fluidity between tricks is exceptional; but you do have to allow for the fact that it is a L/W and it has big winglets. It wants slack.

All the flat spin tricks are amazing. It's so big and slow they just float and surprisingly for a lightweight it has the intertia to do them. I was able to do everything except 540's really easily and I can't do 540's on anything except a SabreII anyway. Fades and turtles are great right out of the box with no change to the weight.

Roll ups are easy for a L/W, again plenty of slack needed and it flies well when it is rolled up.

Get the Icone frame if you can afford it. All my other Next series are icone and it makes a massive difference.

All in all it is a brilliant kite. It's NOT a cross between a Nirvana and a Krystal it's unique and although it is not very popular over here if you stick with it the kite is brilliant - unreal actually. I have all of them now except I have to get the icone frame for this LW.

I have both of the W/M (go to fun kites), A set of Vendettas (wonderful comp kites), SabreII (awesome), Manga (awesome but breaks easily), All the Next series (unreal everything kites). All very different, all fun and where the Vendettas are light pulling and steady the Next are fast, responsive and - especially the Team, pull like a train.

Buy this kite if you are:

An R-Sky nut or compete with fast kites like WM or a trick master who can appreciate a great kite or a mid ability flyer who likes a challenge and has patience.

As a go to kite the Next series are it you may like other kites but you'll never need them.

Don't buy this if you are impatient...

      As usual hope it helps.
